Judy Wasylycia-Leis announced today she has completed the necessary paperwork to ensure her name will be on the mayoral ballot for the October 22 civic election.
"I want to take this opportunity to thank my supporters who signed my nomination papers and who worked so hard to collect the names to make this process go so smoothly," said Wasylycia-Leis. "I am honoured and humbled by your hard work on my behalf to make Winnipeg A City That Works."
Since she first announced her intentions of running for mayor back in June, she has laid out a clear plan on how we can join together to make Winnipeg A City That Works. The plan includes:
- Fixing City Hall
- Rebuilding Our Infrastructure
- Protecting City Services, and
- Creating Opportunities
Judy said she will spend the 38 days remaining the campaign to continue to show that her experience and her balanced, responsible plan will put our city on the right track.
"We need to unite this city instead of divide it. We need to protect services, not cut them. We need to invest in roads, not let them crumble," Judy said. "And we need to make Winnipeg A City that Works for everyone."
